which was merely to the effect that all "brethren" wore

earnostly requested not to travel by the *Patchan" but

to proceed by another vessel. There were no throats

either of violence to passengers or of burning the rossel.

I did not secure a copy of one of these notieus, thinking

it would be inadvisable to try and take one down for the

purpose in 17e presence of a large crowd who might have

resented the motion.
